Bullettin Board For the Audition Training 2021
Information on vaccination status
Since we have already been asked by a number of participants, here is an update on the vaccination status when participating:
Basically there is no compulsory vaccination in order to participate in the courses.
However, there may be restrictions for those who have not been vaccinated, which we can neither assess nor influence today.
Example: listening to master classes, staying in the cafeteria, etc.
Furthermore, there are host families who only want to accept vaccinated participants. We understand this and of course follow it.
Information on registration 2021
This year we will process the registrations as soon as they are received.
This means that everyone who has registered for the master classes will receive personal feedback from us a few days after registration.
There are 4 preferred professors you can register with. We try to take into account the first two wishes.
We strongly recommend that you also take Stephan Braun's course into account.
More information on this below.
Basically we imagine the process this year as follows:
We divide the 6 hours of lessons into 2 times 3 hours so that you can finish the course with the first professor first and then switch to the next professor.
If you have any questions, please use the following email address: email@example.com
There is no separate course for audition training this year.
Nevertheless, you can prepare intensively for an audition as part of the masterclasses.
1st master class with Professor A with a focus on Haydn in D major + cadenza and romantic cello concerto.
2nd master class with Jakob Spahn with a focus on orchestral parts, performance (behind the wall) and debriefing.
You can also repeat the second part several times.
Masterclass with Stephan Braun
Stephan Braun's course is not only aimed at jazz string players, but also explicitly at cellists who want to think outside the box and learn or deepen special playing techniques with him that are also suitable for "classical" repertoire.
Stephan Braun writes:
"Contemporary Cello Techniques"
In works by Crumb, Friedlander, Piazzolla, Sollima, Vasks and others, aspects relating to rhythm, phrasing and special playing techniques are worked out.
Previous knowledge of jazz is not required to take lessons from Stephan Braun. We very much appreciate it when students take the opportunity to get to know something new at the Academy 2021.
Since you can register with 2 professors, the jazz course can be perfectly combined with a classical masterclass .
